This is what Sundays are for:)
Where do you plan on taking this? Animating or still?
It will be an animation in the end, I’m still working on the head geometry/topology, the eyes are too high. What draws well often has to change when it becomes a model, I printed this yesterday which left me slightly unhappy about the neck too, I will get it sorted over the next couple of days and post the results.
Cool. You mean 3D printed? Or just an image?
3D Printed, I will take a picture and post it, I’m lucky enough to have assess to a printer at work, its something else we are working into the curriculum here.
Oh that’s cool. I know the 3D printers are dropping in price. But I haven’t heard of any schools using them yet. What model is yours? Has it given good quality models?
the printer is an UP3d from:
its giving us good models quickly and the material cost is really low, a 5″ tall character takes just over an hour to print and cost the equivalent of about 2.5 dollars in material which is ABS plastic.
Cool, thanks. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in manufacturing as these become more prevalent.
Btw, does topology matter when 3D printing? What do you have to do to prepare a model for print?
